The Clubhouse is a highlight of the Brightwater community. HOA monthly meetings are held here, as well as various events for the residents. The first floor is available for rental to Brightwater residents; the south side of the building houses the lifeguard room and pool restrooms. The Clubhouse has a maximum occupancy of 60 and no alcoholic beverages are allowed on site. For more information about Clubhouse rental, click here.

The Brightwater Community pool, splash pad, and baby pool are adjacent to the Brightwater Clubhouse along with two covered gazebos. The pools are staffed with lifeguards from American Pool and are a great place for residents to enjoy a summer swim. The pool opens for the Memorial Day Weekend and the season runs from then until Labor Day. Brightwater has two regulation-size tennis courts located adjacent to the Clubhouse.  They are available for use by our residents only and must be reserved using the online court reservation website. For tennis court rules, click here. 

Registration for play is through an online service.  To obtain a key to the tennis courts, contact Joanie Sharp at 281-499-3889 or joans1218@aol.com.  Players must be residents of Brightwater.   

The Brightwater subdivision has four neighborhood parks:  Westshore Park, Northshore Park, Lakewinds Park and Breezeway Park.  The first three have playground facilities for children, and Breezeway Park offers a large grassy area to play badminton or volleyball.  All parks are picnic friendly with trash containers on site. 

Part of Westshore Park, the playground is a magnet for Brightwater children.  From toddlers to pre-teens, the recently updated playground gives young ones opportunities to run, climb, slide, swing and play with other wee friends.  Parents, grandparents and guardians also find it a great place to socialize while supervising their kids. 

The large lake in Brightwater, Frost Lake, is approximately 52 acres in size, and the smaller lake is 15.8 acres.  While there are some areas that are 6 to 8 feet deep, the average depth of the lakes is 3 to 3½ feet deep.  No motorized boats are allowed other than electric-powered ones not more than 11 feet in length and 4 feet in width.  Boats may not have more than one motor which cannot exceed 2.0 hp. Remote-controlled boats must be less than 48 inches in length to be operated on the lakes.  Sailboats, paddle boats and canoes are allowed provided they are less than 14 feet in length and 6 feet in width.  No swimming or wading is allowed in either lake. The walkway along Frost Lake offers residents a beautiful place to exercise and to relax.  Walkers can stop to sit on one of the benches along the path and enjoy a serene moment while gazing across the lake.  Dogs are welcome to join their masters on a walk as long as they are on a leash and owners clean up after them.   

The Missouri City Edible Arbor Trail runs beside Oyster Creek along the western boundary of the Lakes of Brightwater.  It is a popular walking/biking trail for many area residents.  Learn more about it by going to www.missouricitytx.gov/index.aspx?nid=285.   

The Fort Bend Family YMCA is located .3 miles from Brightwater.  Exiting Brightwater on Cartwright, turn right, and the Y will be on your left.  They offer swimming programs, various types of camps, child care, health-related activities, and youth and adult sports.  Check them out at www.ymcahouston.org/fort-bend-family/.
