Welcome to Lakes of Brightwater
Welcome to Lakes of Brightwater
Brightwater residents have a wide variety of diverse interests. There are numerous avenues open for community involvement through volunteer service, and Brightwater’s clubs afford residents social and educational opportunities with a sincere “Welcome.”
Brightwater has two monthly book clubs, one that meets in the morning and another that gets together in the evening. The morning club meets at 11:00 a.m. the 3rd Wednesday of each month in the Clubhouse. Contact Tammy Goff at 281-261-5913 for further information.
The evening club meets at 7:00 p.m. the 2nd Monday of the month in the Clubhouse. Call Nancy Hudson at 281-499-8822 for additional information.
Both clubs are free of charge and the books read are library books.
The newest club in Brightwater brings resident chess players together. It is open to all skill levels and all ages and players are encouraged to bring their own chess sets. The club meets on the second Sunday from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Clubhouse. For more information, contact Susan Ramirez at ramirezsusan51@gmail.com
The Brightwater Neighborhood Coffee has been a social activity in the neighborhood for years. The group meets in the Fall, Winter and Spring on the 2nd Monday of the month at the Clubhouse from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. Watch the “Beacon” for dates. There is often a theme to enlighten attendees and to encourage interaction. Join us for great refreshments and fellowship.
Upcoming Coffees will be announced here, in the “Beacon” newsletter, in the ebulletin, and on the announcement board at the Clubhouse.
The Brightwater Garden Club has been a part of the subdivision’s social activities since 1985. The mission of the club is to help residents grow their gardening skills with the help of local gardening experts and fellow club members.
Meetings
The club meets September through April (no meeting in December) on the 4th Monday evening of the month. The meetings are held in the Clubhouse and begin with refreshments at 6:40 p.m., followed by the monthly speaker from 6:50 – 7:50 p.m.
Membership dues are $25 per year which includes an exclusive members-only garden tour and end-of-the-year dinner, plus a discount card that can be applied at a variety of local nurseries and garden supply stores.
Monthly speakers present a wide variety of topics of interest to those who are just beginning their gardening adventures to more seasoned gardeners. All residents and guests are warmly invited to attend and enjoy the friendship and learning opportunities the club provides.
In addition to monthly meetings and periodic field trips, the Garden Club is responsible for selecting the Yard of the Month and for judging the Holiday Decorating Competition, the results of which are posted in the Brightwater eBulletin and "Beacon" newsletter.
